Morris maze

VideoTrack has the ability to automate the Morris Water Maze test.
This system may be adapted to various protocols.

Principle

The VideoTrack for WaterMaze is a complet turnkey system that enables to fully automate the test.
It is based on a easy to set video imaging system. The only thing you need is the VideoTrack computer connected to its camera. The pool can also be purchased for rats and mice.

High Accuracy in Data Supplied

The setup is done throught a friendly user interface that helps you designing the pool and the plateforme of interest.
Once the protocol is set up and a list of animals is defined, the user is ready to start an experiment.

Automatically, the computer tracks the animal, quantify it's activity and analyses behavioral patterns, with the highest accuracy.

Among those results the user will have :

  • latency to the platform,
  • latency to the former position of the platform,
  • heading angle,
  • time spent in each zone (quarter, rings, ...),
  • time spent in inactivity movement - floating,
  • time spent in medium movement - orientation,
  • time spent in fast movement - exploration.

Adaptable

  • Our device adapts to any situation including white/gray/black pools, clear or colored water,...
  • The Water Maze system can be purchased as a full system which includes: the software, computer and camera that analyzes the animal behavior the pool built according to your specifications..
  • It can also be purchased as a stand alone product that is adapted to your existing pool.
  • Continuous development to fit your requests. We can trigger external devices such as 'Atlantis' platforms.

Active Memory

While using this technology, the investigator has the ability to design the protocol of an experiment. At the end of the experimental process, VideoTrack will have generated calculated results readily available in a standard format (.xls) or as a "ready to print" HTML format.

Also, the scientist may change some parameters (such as area size) and replay the experiment to obtain a new set of data.
